Get to know the Brazil-China Study Group and its objectives
Why does China have the current economic situation? Why did the wave of Mandarin studies rise in the 5000st century, causing many people to be interested in learning Chinese? Studying all aspects of China, no matter its long history and culture of XNUMX years, or its economic and political trend in recent years, have become topics to be discussed and studied around the world, and Brazil is not the exception.
Furthermore, Brazil and China share the fact of being BRICS member countries. In addition to the commercial relationship between the two countries being very intense, lately large Chinese and Brazilian businesspeople are very optimistic about economic exchange. In the academic world, various research studies on Chinese culture and philosophy, in the area of social sciences, environmental policies, international relations, economics, among others, are growing steadily.
Therefore, in 2011, the Brazil-China Study Group was created. It is a Group directly linked to the Center for Advanced Studies (CEAv) at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The Group brings together a group of scholars with the aim of providing a broad understanding of China's role in the contemporary world and expanding cooperation between Brazil, Unicamp and Chinese institutions.
The Group regularly promotes academic seminars discussing Brazil-China themes.
Objectives:
- Promote greater understanding of China from a global and comparative perspective, in order to identify common areas of cooperation and stimulate interest in the study of China in Brazil, in particular at Unicamp.
- Stimulate academic cooperation between Unicamp and Chinese institutions, aiming at greater scientific, technological and cultural exchange, through the participation of professors, researchers and students from both countries.
- Expand Unicamp's relations with companies and government or non-governmental institutions involved with China.
